The Houston Zoo has partnered with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Texas State University, and Texas Parks and Wildlife in order to recover the Houston toad populations:

-
The zoo is a 501(c)(3) helping replenish the population
-
They have released 775,000 Houston toad eggs into the wild, which were bred in a quarantine facility on the zoo’s property
-
Zoo contains an entire facility just for the captive breeding program of the toad, run by two full-time specialists
-
The Houston Zoo staff participates in outreach and educational presentations in order to inform the public
